Living in the capital city of India sometimes is an advantage. Delhi is well-connected to all the cities and states of India.

It is a blessing to go out and explore a new place every weekend. From the busy and hectic regular boring life, a weekend break is very much enough.

How I get an Idea about this adventure trip?

As I was searching for some weekend adventure trips and suddenly Triund trek for 2 days 1 night popped up on my mobile screen. When I clicked the ad and read about the trek and found out that it can be done only in 2 days. Then, I was all set for my weekend.

Way to Triund

I booked the package and started packing for the trek. Keep in mind the season you are visiting and pack accordingly. I visited in summer months so, I packed very few things including essential toiletries, t-shirts, jeggings, sunscreen, sweater, moisturizers, first-aid, water bottle, trekking shoes, trekking pole, and a few more items.

I took a direct bus from Delhi to Mcleodganj. As I was traveling solo it was best to book an overnight bus where you can just sleep and reach the destination the next morning. I reached Mcleodganj the next morning.

Then arrived early at the meeting point after having a cup of tea at a roadside tea stall. There are 10 more trek members including me.

Our trek leader explained the whole itinerary to us once again and we all m0ved to the base camp of Triund Trek. Galu Devi Temple, a short drive from Mcleodganj took us to the base camp. From here the trek distance is 9km.

Triund: Easiest Trek in Himachal Pradesh

Triund trek is considered as one of the easiest treks in Himachal Pradesh which is perched at an elevation of 2,850m above sea level. It is also known as a beginner’s trek.

The first five kilometers of the trek is easy to climb but the last 4 kilometers have steep climbs. Triund is also known for its 22 sharp curves. The trek becomes slightly moderate in the last few kilometers and tests your endurance level.

But as I said, it is a perfect beginner trek and can easily be done in 5-6 hours. During the trek, we passed through dense forests of pines and deodars, lush green meadows, lush meadows, a variety of flora& fauna, along with the mighty snow-capped mountains.

There are a lot of eatery-joints on the trek where you can take a break and eat something, fill your water bottles. I must say maggie tastes better in the mountains.

After reaching the top, I was looking at the trail and wondering I don’t want to go back. The views were mind-boggling. The captivating views of the Dhauladhars and the fascinating Kangra valley were something you can’t miss. The tranquility, soothing weather with clear blue skies and shiny sun.

For sure, this trip made my weekend. Camping at the top was an unforgettable experience. Triund is perfect to beat the summer heat and scenic surroundings.

I watched the perfect sunset and sunrises of my life. And nights at Triund are beautiful than the days. The star-glazed night will leave you breathless.

I was not in a mood to leave Triund. I wanted to stay there for a long time but the harsh reality again hit my mind. Weekend over, trip over, and work-life starts.

Well, with a heavy heart I said goodbye to the amazing trip and trek down from the Triund top. We all came down in half time and explored a little bit of Mcleodganj.

I tried some good food on the streets of the beautiful hill station and took another overnight bus to Delhi. Here my amazing trip experience ends!!
